Walked the Southern Corfu Trail. Did 84 miles which sounds a lot, but I consider anyone of average fitness could do. The only thing I would say is that there is no break. It was six days of consistent walking. A tip here is not to take your boots off when walking on the lovely sandy beaches, because the sand erodes the skin of your feet if you aren't used to it and you'll end up with nasty blisters. Spiros the guide was an informative and attentive guide, a real joy to be with and very good hearted.

A good introduction to Corfu, with varied terrain and scenery including sections along the beach. We walked whole of the southern section of the trail, crossing the island twice. It would have been less enjoyable if the group hadn't gelled well as there was little opportunity to take meals outside the group. Hotter than expected for mid September - high 20s every day with little shade on two days - which made the going quite tough at times despite there being no big ascents. I walked in boots but multi-activity shoes, preferably without a membrane lining, would have been better in the heat as the walking was nowhere difficult underfoot. The last day could be done in trainers. Sports sandals would have been useful on the beach sections and would have avoided taking boots off three times to cross watery sections. Long trousers were redundant as vegetation was not a problem.

Spiros was an excellent guide. He was willing and keen to share his abundant knowledge of the island (particularly botanical) but never forced it upon us. We enjoyed his sense of humour.

The accommodation was pretty good. Most of our rooms had aircon, though it didn't work in one of them. A plug-in mosquito coil would have been useful at one place.

Costis the tour leader was amazing, very helpful, knowledgeable and kept us laughing. Some of the walks were challenging but well worth it for the beautiful Corfu scenery. The taverna food was excellent. And a great group of people to walk with.

Excellent leader. Costis should be bench mark for other leaders.

Excellent tour leader; good walks that can be quite demanding in the afternoon sun; and plenty of appetising food to replace the lost calories. TIps : do some walking at home before you travel to "loosen up " a bit, and take plenty of suntan cream and a hat! a swimming costume, of course!

Range of terrain. wild flowers amazing. Good pace. regular catching up stops. Some nice surprizes like a café!! Perhaps some times an earlier evening meal, nearer 7 or 7 30 would have been apprec9ated as it took a long time in some tavernas before we actually ate.

Not only is Corfu beautiful but this tour is led by a fantastic tour leader. Costis is fun, organised and full of facts about the island! This will be one of the best holidays you go on and you will leave feeling rejuvenated and refreshed!

A great way to see Corfu, you get some fantastic views and incredible scenery. It was described as moderate, but actually its different for everyone. I found some days really challenging especially when you're walking every day for most of the day with no respite in between. The tour leader was fantastic, very positive and energetic with an abundance of knowledge and always telling you different things which keeps everyone's spirits up and makes the hike a little easier. He's also very thorough with any medical conditions members of the group may have. The group mix was fantastic and I though everyone got on really well. Overall a great trip and one I would definitely recommend for people to do.

Varied scenery and walking from going across sand dunes along the coast to climbing mountains for fantastic views and relaxing with a swim in the sea to cool off at the end of the day.

Take some compeed in case your walking boots rub blisters!
