Explore's Hannah Green had long dreamed of visiting Italy's picturesque Amalfi Coast. In May 2014 her dream finally came true when she travelled on our Amalfi Coast Walking tour.
"I recently had the opportunity to travel on our Amalfi Coast walking tour, my first experience of a walking holiday. Any initial concerns were soon forgotten upon meeting our Tour Leader, Barry, and the group - a mix of first timers and regular walkers.
We stayed in the same accommodation throughout the week, Agriturismo Luna d’Agerola, a beautiful farmhouse which was the perfect base for both the walking and visits to the nearby towns of Amalfi, Positano and Capri.
Particular highlights of the trip for me include visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius as well as exploring the island of Capri - places I’d wanted to see for a long time; they didn’t disappoint. However, it is the beautiful coastal views that draw people to this region and despite a discouraging start to the week with the weather, we were soon rewarded with the views we’d come for: sweeping coastline, sparkling seas and picturesque coastal towns perching on the cliff side.
The walks were a good variety of easy to more challenging and full credit must be given to our Tour Leader whose experience and knowledge of the region ensured everyone successfully completed the walks whilst always keeping his sense of humour. Barry was without a doubt one of the best Tour Leaders I’ve had and made this the ideal first walking tour."
