Save US$250 (around £147) on Uganda Gorilla Permits

To see mountain gorillas in the wild is one of those once-in-a-lifetime wildlife highlights which you will cherish forever. The great news is that our tailor-made team can offer a discount on gorilla permits for November 2014 (subject to availability). So if you book any tailor-made tour to Uganda departing in November your permit will be US$250 less than the usual price (US$600) – that’s quite a saving!

The gorilla permit system ensures that there are strict controls on the numbers of tourists visiting habituated groups so that the gorillas are not unduly disturbed. Revenue from the permits is also used to fund conservation efforts such as anti-poaching patrols. Permits are strictly controlled; it pays to book well ahead of departure to ensure we can secure a permit for you on a date which fits the rest of your itinerary.

The best place in Uganda to see mountain gorillas is Bwindi National Park. One question we often get asked is how long it will take to reach the gorillas; the answer is – it depends where they are! You could trek for just a few minutes or it might take considerably longer. The terrain is somewhat steep and slippery with thick vegetation so you do need to be reasonably fit. Spotters head out each day to the gorillas’ last known spot from the day before and track their movements so they know roughly where they are all the time.
