Explore’s new family brochure offers better value for money than ever before
Adventure travel specialist, Explore, has launched its 2013/14 family collection with some exceptional price reductions. Without compromising on the quality of its tours, it has worked closely with its suppliers to make savings in the current economic climate. The result sees an average 10% price drop on child prices and a 5% decrease in adult prices across the collection, when compared with the same tours in 2012, with holidays now costing from £195 per adult and £176 per child (tour only)*. What’s more, customers booking a new tour before 31st October, 2012 will benefit from a 5% discount on any trips booked for February half term onwards. This saving is on top of the 5% loyalty discount that applies to second or subsequent Explore Family Adventure bookings*.
This year’s family brochure has benefited from a complete redesign, providing more detailed information on what there is to see and do on every tour and in each country. Examples of this include descriptions of what the food will be like and what animals are likely to be seen in a particular country. Tour descriptions include ‘magic moments’ – trip highlights that won’t be forgotten, such as racing through the narrow streets of Old Delhi in a tuk tuk; learning Burmese games from local children and sleeping under the stars in the desert. The brochure also includes information on what the ‘ideal age’ is for a tour as well as a ‘minimum age’, based on how challenging it is and the ages of children who have travelled in previous years.
‘Active Sicily’ has been introduced as a new tour, in response to the popularity of similar trips. As well as ascending the highest volcano in Europe – Mount Etna, other highlights on this family activity holiday in Sicily include an adventurous river trek through the Alcantara Gorge (that’s trekking in a river, in a wetsuit); mountain biking through one of the most noted mountain eco systems in the Mediterranean Basin and swimming in the secluded bays, caves and coves around Cafalu. There is also a pizza and pasta cooking lesson in Palermo and a visit to the impressive ruins of Taormina.
The price of this eight-day tour is from £1,086 per adult and £945 per child to include flights, accommodation, all breakfasts and dinners, transport and the services of a tour leader, local guides and drivers. (£915 per adult and £774 per child, tour only)
Ashley Toft, Managing Director of Explore, commented, “This brochure is a presentation of the best selection of family tours that we can possibly offer, with destinations as diverse as Burma and Madagascar; Nicaragua and the Azores. We recognise that the current economic climate is challenging for families and the cost of holidays can be one of the first expenses to be scrutinised in any family budget. Last year we addressed this with the expansion of our ‘budget’ collection (now called ‘Simply Explore’), which proved phenomenally popular. This year, by working hard to make our family tours even more affordable, we genuinely believe that we offer the best value family adventure holidays available.”
