For those particularly taken with Explore’s new ‘Best Medium Safari, Wildlife & Nature Holiday Company’ accolade, Explore offers over 80 wildlife tours across the globe, including some exciting new additions for 2014.
New in Africa is Explore’s 12 day Gorongosa and Wild Beaches of Mozambique tour. The tour travels from Kruger National Park to perhaps its most remarkable park in the continent: Gorongosa. Located in Mozambique, Gorongosa recently featured in Sir David Attenborough’s Africa series and has risen from the ashes of civil war to become one of the most beautiful reserves in the world. Customers will also get an insight into local life as they spend time with the Amerindian community of Surama and visit local villages where they will have the opportunity to learn about medicinal plants and their uses. Discovering truly untouched habitats, Explore’s new 12 day Guinea Bissau and the Sacred Bijagos Archipelago tour travels to the West Coast of Africa. The tour travels through Guinea Bissau by bus, boat and canoe across savannah, lagoons, rivers, forest, mangroves and the ocean to the islands and tribal villages of this captivating country. Of Guinea Bissau’s 88 islands, only a handful are inhabited, allowing customers to admire prolific birdlife, nesting green turtles and saltwater hippos that have remained undisturbed by humans. Departing in November and December 2014, the tour costs from £3,192 per person, to include return flights; eco-lodge and camping accommodation; most meals; transport and the services of a tour leader and driver.
