Travelling from Kangerlussuaq in Western Greenland to Montreal (or in reverse) you’ll visit the stunning Ilullissat icefjord, cross the Davis Strait and visit the traditional Inuit community on the northern tip of Baffin Island. Venture further into the Canadian arctic and see polar bears roaming the tundra as well as small populations of Arctic hare and musk ox. Patagonia to Antarctica is a 19-day trip that combines Cape Horn, the Chilean Fjords and the rich and varied wildlife of Patagonia with the wonders of Antarctica. Visit the world-renowned Torres del Paine National Park before continuing into open waters and attempting a landing on Cape Horn. Spend four days exploring the white wilderness of Antarctica, travelling ashore aboard sturdy Polarcirckel boats and exploring various penguin rookeries and bays on the peninsula, before heading north across the Drake Passage to Ushuaia. 19 days from £6,899 per person, voyage only, aboard M/S Fram.

- In November, pack ice is breaking up, and the birds are mating – sometimes displaying with elaborate courtship rituals
- In December and January, penguin chicks hatch and seal pups are born. The long days in December create longer daylight hours and the opportunity for midnight photography

- 24-hour daylight is experienced from April to August, allowing you to make the most of every minute on board
- If you travel early in the season, you’re likely to see more ice – a stunning frozen wilderness
- Travelling late July or early August gives you the best chance of circumnavigating Spitsbergen, as the ice starts to break up
