There are a number of good walks in the Low Tatras Mountains too and also Mala Fatra National Park. The Low Tatras as the name suggests are a lower group of mountains than the High Tatras with only three peaks above 2000 metres. There are a number of pleasant walks in the area.
The Mala Fatra Mountains in the national park by the same name are seldom visited by tourists, but offer great hiking amongst alpine meadows, stunning gorges, beech and pine covered peaks and clear rivers rushing through green valleys.
Slovakia is a great destination for walking in Europe, and if you enjoy mountain scenery, seeing lesser known sights and admiring beautiful flora and fauna along the way then this is an ideal destination for you.
